Looking for:
Convert windows 10 enterprise to professional freeConvert windows 10 enterprise to professional free.Switch to Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise from S mode
It came preinstalled with Windows 10 Enterprise Edition and required me to connect to University Wifi every days to preserve my activation. Now that I'm in my final semester, I'll soon be leaving the college and the laptop provided to us is ours to keep after graduation.
The issue is that my windows gets deactivated and also Microsoft Office Suite and it is frustrating. It isn't my fault that the university isn't really aware about how enterprise licenses work, and as a result, I have to deal with constant annoying messages about how my windows is about to get deactivated.
And I'll be using this laptop for at least a year or two more for my professional work, so this really hampers me down. I'm just looking for a way to downgrade my enterprise license to Windows Pro, without having to buy a new license key. In case you any Microsoft employee wants to verify my identity and check for legitimacy, you can contact me personally through email and I'll provide you with my Edu email along with outlook email I've participated in Windows Insider program before.
Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. There is no downgrade route from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Pro, you will need to clean install Windows 10 Pro and buy a new licence.
A clean install will have to delete all data on the device so the first thing to do is to backup all you personal files. Once you can boot from the USB drive you select Language then Install now and Custom install, at that point delete all partitions one at a time until you only have unallocated space, select next and follow the prompts.
Microsoft Office is different you may still be able to use the licence providing you can use the same email account after leaving the university.
I don't necessarily need Windows 10 Pro. Even Home is fine. All I want is a legitimate Windows copy on my machine. And I think my situation doesn't arise from any sort of illegitimacy, as the university should've provided all of us Windows 10 Home or pro version if they were going to allow us to keep our laptops.
Also, if the license wasn't costly, I would've changed it long time ago, but it is. And it's not worth it to buy a license for this machine in particular when I'm going to inevitably change it one or two years. I'm extremely sorry if the tone of my previous message aired a lot of frustration.
And I appreciate your assistance and prompt reply. I'm grateful for that. If you have a genuine license key for Windows 10 Pro. You can definitely revert back from enterprise to Pro without having to purchase another Win 10 Pro license. These type of licenses are not transferable despite being linked to your Microsoft account.
Windows 10 would have used the Windows 8 license to create the digital license and if it was OEM then it is not transferable to new hardware. It boils down to the type of license and not whether it is linked to your account. If same exact system that had Pro then no if hardware changes like motherboard then it's another ball game.

In reply to Sidney S's post on April 1, I am just a regular Windows user just like you, who helps people because I am very good and have a strong expertize in dealing with Microsoft products.
I do not question your legitimacy at all. I completely agree with you. It is kinda is troublesome to have a computer with an expiring licence, no question.
However technically on your computer, this is as far as my first explanation went. So to deal with it, two ways: - Either you can contact your university to get you a real long during licence - Or then contact Microsoft Support service via a phone call to try negociating with them Let me know how it goes, I hope you will be able to get your licence Sidney.
I don't think getting through to my university is possible now due to the pandemic However, I will try calling Microsoft support centre when I do get the time to do so Thanks for the help anyways Stay Safe.
No worries, I understand. You are welcome Thank you for your kind words, stay safe too! I had accidentally? I tried calling … and entering long numbers, but nothing worked, because I had enterprise installed and didn't notice this for a while. But I entered the default product key, in your email and instantly, pro was activated with my digital license!!! I was ready to go buy a physical license, so I would have a product key.
You saved me time and money, Thank You! In reply to neilpzz's post on April 1, This site in other languages x.
